FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

COVID Guidelines

There are no current mandates in place. However, Denver Academy follows all CDC and City and County of Denver policies in regards to COVID and large gatherings. If circumstances and policies dictate, we may need to adjust our precautions.

 

Cancellation Policy

Table or ticket cancellations must be received in writing by April 8 to qualify for a refund. If unforeseen circumstances necessitate a cancellation after April 8, contact galacoordinator@denveracademy.org for your options.

 

Childcare

Childcare will not be available. However, if you need to arrange childcare, Nanno, an on demand childcare app, is offering a 20% discount for DA guests for Gala night; use code DAGALA2022.

 

Dress Code

This is a semi-formal event, so elegant attire is encouraged: gowns, cocktail attire, suits or tuxedos.

 

Electronic Bidding Instructions

  • You will receive a text message and/or an email message with a link directing you to the mobile bidding site.
  • To verify your name, select the “Yes!” button.
  • Search packages by number, keyword, or category and select the package you wish to bid on.
  • You can bid the next increment, set a max bid, or build a "Watch" list to watch packages that you might be interested in bidding on later.
  • Placing a max bid works just like eBay. If your max bid is the highest, the system will automatically bid in your favor until you are outbid or until the silent auction closes.
  • To place a straight bid, uncheck the max bidding box to turn the max bid feature off.
  • If you are out-bid, you will receive an outbid text message.
  • To get back to the main screen, tap the Home icon.
  • To go to your list of bids and open items you are currently winning, select the menu button and select “My List.”
  • To find out what packages have no bids, select “No Bid Packages.”
  • The silent auction will close at 8:00 pm. Be sure to watch the event timer in the middle of your screen to get your final bids in before closing.
  • Please ask any of our Concierge Bidders (wearing green lanyards) for help using your smartphone or to place a bid for you.

 

Gala After Party

After the conclusion of the Gala program, please continue celebrating across the hall in the Freemont Room. Cash bar available.

 

Guest Information

The names, contact information and meal preferences of your guests should be provided to Denver Academy by April 8. A Table Guest Form can be downloaded here and either returned via mail, email or fax. If there are any changes to your guest list, please email galacoordinator@denveracademy.org.

 

Item Pickup

Items will not be distributed at the live event. Instead, item pick up will occur on Wednesday, April 27, between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Denver Academy Administration Building.

 

Menu and Dietary Restrictions

There are two dinner entrees available: 1) Roasted chicken, cauliflower puree, tri-colored carrots, lemon jus; and 2) Vegan - Spaghetti squash with spring vegetables. To view the full menu, click here.

The meal will be 100% gluten free. If you or your guests have any dietary restrictions (e.g. dairy, nuts) or food allergies that you did not provide upon registration, please email galacoordinator@denveracademy.org by April 15, so that the venue can be notified.

 

Parking and Venue Information

The event is being held at The Ritz-Carlton Denver: 1881 Curtis Street, Denver, CO  80202. 

A limited number of discounted rooms at the Ritz-Carlton have been set aside for gala weekend. The discounted rate is available 4/22/2022 to 4/25/2022. Click here to make a reservation. 

Valet parking is available for $20.00 per vehicle for the event, or $59 for overnight. Additional off-site parking options can be found online here.

 

Receipts

Event receipts will be sent by email the week following the event summarizing your auction and admissions purchases. Be advised that appropriate sales taxes will be added to applicable items. Questions about receipts can be directed to Lori Hill at lhill@denveracademy.org.

 

Refunds 

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. All items are non-refundable. There will be no exchanges on items except where specified. Please note specifications, expiration dates and limitations carefully before bidding on an item. Items not used will not be refunded.
